Bethany Hamilton :)

Bethany Hamilton was a professional surfer but in 2003 she lost her Left arm to a Tiger shark when she was 13. Yet she still continues to surf and teach today. I am inspired by her commitment to this sport and how she continues to surf today after that terrible incident. In all honesty I don't know much about sports or many people who play sports but Bethany is someone who I feel people should look up too.

Bethany lost her arm in Kauai to a 14 foot tiger shark the shark was later caught not far from the area about a mile away by a fisherman family led by Ralph young. They killed the shark on site. Bethany was also surfing with her friend Alana Blanchard during that time.

 Bethany lost around 60% of her blood and wasn't expected to survive yet she pushed through and surprised doctors at her recovery.

Around 26 days since the amputation she went straight back to surfing and teaching. Bethany's bitten surfboard and bathing suit can be found on display at the California surf museum in Oceanside.

I see Bethany as my hero because of her commitment and reliance towards what she loves. I find it amazing how she pushed through losing her arm and decided to continue surfing.

Class Display

 Class Display

During class about a week or two ago we made a Class Display which is a tree with different leaves which involve facts about each person in this class.

There are rabbits leaves branches the trunk and birds.

When we were choosing roles i decided i would make extra leaves with carr values on it.

It turned out really good and i'm very happy with how it looks its genuinely good and i find it nice the everyone contributed.

This was a fun project and i really enjoyed coming up with ideas for leaf designs.

Conical Flask

A Conical Flask is used for heating liquids during an experiment as it does not spill liquids easily. A Conical Flask is also used to store chemicals.

Measuring Cylinder.

A Measuring Cylinder is used to measure the volumes in chemicals that are going to be used for reactions.

Beaker

A Beaker is used for holding and measuring chemicals/liquids.

Earthquake Heroes

 In class we have been talking about Earthquake heroes and did tasks on what happened and different heroes.

Ivy did the flame hands :)

I saw bright orange flickering flames the raised up into the sky.

I felt a wave of heat hit me from the orange flames.

I heard screams from the people who felt the heat on there hands.

I smelled something disgusting I couldn't really make out a certain smell but it was gross.

I felt(emotion way) nothing really I was just watching it happen.

-Aim-

I wish to be able to set my hands on fire without causing any harm to myself.

-Equipment-

• Safety Glasses.
  

• Detergent. 

• Matches / lighter.

• Hands.

• Gas tap.

• Hose.

• Container.

• Water.

-Instructions-

1-Get your equipment.

2-Safety glasses on.

3-Fill the container with water.

4-Put the detergent in the water.(soap)

5-Connect the hose too the gas tap.

6-Put the hose's other end in the container.

7-Turn on the gas tap.(it should make bubble sounds and bubbles)

-turn off when u see bubbles

8-Soak your hands up to your elbow in water.

9-With both hands scoop the bubbles up.

10-Extend both arms in front of your face.

11-Do not pull your hands away!.

12-Light the bubbles aflame with either a lighter or a match.

13-to get rid of the fire slowly drop the flame and put both hands in front of you in somewhat of a iron man pose when he shoots.

Niki Nihachu

 in class we were told to do a drawing on our heroes and write nice words that describe them around it here is mine on Niki also known as Nihachu

Niki is a very nice person in my eyes and i aspire to be like her in any way possible.

Niki is a very comforting person and her content has helped me a lot when i'm sad.

Not matter how popular or unpopular someone is she still helps them and makes sure there happy and okay Niki is one of the most kind people i can think of and has a great attitude to anything toxic. :>
